Hilton Head Island, South Carolina

Deedee Knows - Hilton Head Island

In need of vitamin sea? After the way 2020 has been, the calm and stillness of the ocean sounds pretty good right about now. I have the perfect place for beach walks, or if you’re simply craving fresh seafood, there’s that too! My first visit to Hilton Head Island I was instantly impressed. The thing about Hilton Head is it has a coastal vibe, but with a touch of southern elegance that only it can provide. Needless to say, I fell in love with this beach town.

Our stay at The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort and Spa was truly therapeutic. There’s no reason to leave the property, because everything one would need is there. There’s beachfront access, and live music when you dine al fresco and Starbucks coffee in the morning. It’s truly the perfect escape from 2020. The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort and Spa makes you feel like you’ve been transported to a resort in Mexico, with its multiple swimming pools that overlook the ocean. Just order a margarita at the pool bar, and you’ll know what I’m talking about!

When you’re ready to enjoy that fresh seafood I was raving about, go to none other than The Crazy Crab. A short drive from The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa and you can experience the best hush puppies of your life! Ask to be seated outside to enjoy beautiful inlet views.

There’s nothing I love more than a relaxing pool day, but it calls for some essentials.

  • Sunning by the pool requires a flexible straw hat. This is an Amazon find and I always reach for it for long pool days! {Click here for link}

  • I elevated my sunglass game this summer with these square Raybans. They’re perfect for sunny days because they are full coverage. {Check them out here}

  • Gold chains are my summer must have accessory. These are from H&M and so affordable. I’m linking similar ones {here}

  • Can’t lie this swimsuit is a last years Old Navy find. However, I do love their swimsuits. {Click to see} the one I’m eyeing now!

Deedee Knows - Shelter Cove - Hilton Head Island

Discovering Hilton Head has been the best thing about 2020. So much so it deserved a second summer trip! Our second HHI vacay we saw so much more of the island and ate at gourmet restaurants. Poseidon’s crab cake dish was the best I’ve ever had! Plus you have this picturesque view for dinner. Poseidon is located in Shelter Cove along with plenty more cute shops and restaurants. The Marriott Hilton Head Resort & Spa we stayed at was a convenient five minute drive to Shelter Cove. That makes going to dinner and coming back to get in your pj’s all that much easier!

Deedee Knows - Ela's Waterfront Grill - Hilton Head Island

Our favorite dinner had to be Ela’s Waterfront Grill. Not only was the salmon rockefeller to die for, but the ambiance of the restaurant was so romantic! We dined on the terrace and watched the boats dock for the evening.

Outfit details:

  • My BCBG maxi dress is an oldie but a goldie. I’m linking a similar dress that is oh so nautical… {here}.

  • This Walmart straw tote is everything. It has two different straps to change up the look! {Linked here}

  • Gold bangles seen here are waterproof, so basically I wear them all summer. Do yourself a favor and get some, because they are SO inexpensive on Amazon.

Deedee Knows - Harbour Town - Hilton Head Island

Exploring Harbour Town has been my favorite thing I’ve done in HHI so far. This quaint area is like something you would see in a movie! There’s so much to do in Harbour Town from climbing the lighthouse to bike riding and horseback riding, to yacht watching and shopping. You’ll visit Harbour Town and never want to leave!
