Baby Chapman's Nursery

NURSERY REVEAL

Ahh, the time is finally here to reveal baby’s sweet nursery. This nursery has been a labor of love both by BJ and I, and also a draining of our bank account! Haha! We have put months and months of design and product research, as well as, installation work into this nursery. Special thanks to my hubs for making my vision come to life. I hope Baby Chapman feels at home in here, as much as I do.

ROCKING HORSE

My favorite part of our nursery and one meaningful story starts with this rocking horse. I knew my vision for this nursery included a wooden rocking horse. However, finding one to fit our space seemed challenging. We antiqued regularly, and would always come up short finding the perfect one. My wonderful husband was planning to build a rocking horse, until I spotted this one above on his grandparent’s front porch. I couldn’t believe I had never noticed this adorable rocking horse on their porch in all its weathered glory. BJ went to work right away to sand down years of weathered wood to this beautiful cherry color. After it was refinished, we polished it up and added brass nail heads to give it character. It is such a precious part of our nursery.

FOR THIS CHILD WE HAVE PRAYED

We are so close to our due date, and the time seems to be moving so fast. While we are very excited for this next chapter, I am soaking in these last few days before baby arrives. Really trying to honor this time of waiting, and remembering that something we prayed so hard for is right around the corner. How exciting is that?!?

BOOKS BOOKS BABY

In true gender-neutral fashion, I wanted our book wall to flow perfectly with all of the creams, beiges and warm tones that filled this room. When BJ and I would be out and about, we would often look for books that felt classic, as well as fitting for our color scheme.

BABY’S CUSTOM CLOSET

I did tell y’all this nursery was a labor of love. Not only did BJ create a stunning focal wall with custom wallpaper and personally installed real wood wainscoting, but he also installed closet wallpaper and this stunning, yet simplistic custom closet. As I like to say… “I have the vision, but he makes it come to life!”

This closet system is one we picked out from Lowe’s Hardware. I am so pleased with how it turned out!

LITTLE DETAILS

I feel like this nursery is all in the little details. From the vintage finds, like the wooden horse, duck, and swan, to the new elements with the woven baskets and rattan keepsake boxes, it creates a classic and timeless feel. That was the ultimate goal with this nursery; classic, timeless, and elegant. Tying in natural elements and working with simple colors always help me achieve that effortless and classic look.

SHOP NURSERY ITEMS

As you can expect as a new mom, I put in hours and hours of research for Baby Chapman’s nursery items. I love that the main items such as crib, dresser, mirror, and nursery recliner came from a site as affordable as Walmart.com. I think these items look so chic, and really give an elevated feel.

The plaid wallpaper was a custom wallpaper find from Etsy, along with the tapestry art also sourced from Etsy.

Baby’s closet install was created by Lowe’s ClosetMaid system. First we wallpapered the inside using a neutral peel & stick wallpaper from Amazon. We used the main ClosetMaid system linked below. Then added three drawers for storage and sleekness, as well as one extra rod with shelving for a symmetrical look.

Amazon has been my go to when looking for essentials to fill our nursery. If it wasn’t a vintage find, it was more than likely sourced from Amazon. Below, I’m linking lots of nursery must haves from Amazon.

These next few days are filled with much anticipation as we await he or she. We feel blessed for the opportunity to be parents, and to have been surrounded by so much love as we embark on this new chapter. Here’s to my next big life change! I have enjoyed sharing it with you all here on DK!

Stay tuned for the next chapter…
