A Timeless Thanksgiving

THANKSGIVING TRADITION

Our new home is starting to feel more like a home than just an address. My hope was to create a space that’s not only warm and inviting for us, but also for our guests. For myself, there is not another time of year that is more welcoming and cozy than the time that centers around Thanksgiving. The weather, the sweaters, and even the food all encompasses comfort and coziness. It is hands down my favorite season.

A tradition I wanted to continue was my love for setting a beautiful table. I truly believe the best moments are centered around good food with your people. Cooking doesn’t come naturally for me, although I come from a long line of women that are excellent cooks. On holidays I try to soak up as much knowledge from them as I can. As for decor, I can handle that!

TABLESCAPE PREP

My Thanksgiving tablescape centered around our wedding china. I knew when I registered for these Spode china sets, they would be something I could cherish for decades to come. They are timeless and classic, and can be used for different holidays. I knew I had to bring their elegance to life with an amazing, but affordable table setting.

I found my gingham tablecloth, pheasant feather placemats, napkins and gold rings all from Amazon. The feather placemats were a splurge but one I saw worthy for the future of my china. Plus, they truly make me happy because they are stunning in person!

Gold candlesticks provide so much elegance. These were recycled from our wedding decor, you can always find these at your local Goodwill or antique store. The smaller votive holders were recent Hobby Lobby finds. I chose three different styles of small brown votives and placed them sporadically through out. The glass vases are from the dollar store, and I filled them with fresh babies breath to continue my neutral hues.

RECREATE MY TABLE

What I love most about this table setting is that you can use dishes you currently own to achieve this look. These pretty extras are what really adds that special touch. Everything including my Spode china can be found below!

The thought of my family enjoying pumpkin pie around this table warms my heart. There’s love in the small details, and I know it shows through. So, I encourage you to break out your best dishes and prep that Thanksgiving table for the ones you love most. Happy Thanksgiving ya’ll!
