Galentine's Soirée

Roses are red, violets are blue… I want wine and chocolate too!! I can’t think of a better reason to rally all your girls together than for a galentines party! I’ve loved Valentine’s Day for as long as I can remember. I think it’s because my mom always made it so special. To this day, I feel like its my duty to make those closest to me feel extra special on Valentine’s Day! I’m sharing how I threw together a little Galentine’s Soirée on a budget!

Hosting parties is my new hobby, but it can get expensive to feed your folks, and throw a decorative party! For this pink and red party, I wanted my girlfriends to just bring themselves and have a great time. For myself, the best parties are the ones where I keep the menu simple. So let’s cheers to going easy on yourself; hostess with the mostest!

In keeping the menu simple, I decided on things women love; charcuterie boards, sweets, and wine! I covered my twelve foot island in carpenters paper from Lowe’s Home Improvement. Then I went to town layering decor that I had on hand, or that I had purchased from the dollar store. I took wood and marble cutting boards and scattered them throughout. I piled on cheese, crackers and sweets for an effortless look. I filled small bowls with colorful and festive candy, and sporadically placed them on the island. Layering is key to create this fun food display!

My friend and local baker made these adorable Valentine’s cookies. They were the hit of the party! If you splurge on a food item, make it something people will really take notice of; like these super cute cookies!

What’s a girls party without some bubbly? I always like to have a non-alcoholic option for those who want to feel festive but might not want to drink. Make a 2-liter bottle of cranberry ginger-ale feel fancy by pouring it into a pretty dispenser! That costed me only $2!! As for the wine I like to do one to two options at most. I always get my wine selections at Total Wine. They are so helpful there when it comes to looking fancy on a budget.

Let’s talk party decor! Balloon arches are everywhere! It’s because they are surprisingly easy and so affordable. Don’t be afraid of the balloon arch trend, it’s here to stay. Plus, it really adds a wow factor to any party!

To create an epic balloon arch you need a few handy tools; balloon pump, balloons, fishing wire, and if you’re really all in, a backdrop stand.

I have convienently linked all the items I used from Amazon > {Click here}

This video really helped me get the swing of making balloon arches. Once you get the hang of it, you can have one made in no time, I promise!! {Click here} > for balloon arch tutorial!

There you have it y'all; how to throw a fun girls bash on a dime! I can’t wait to host my Galentine’s Soirée again next year… I have a feeling I’m going to make this an annual event!
